Anuradhapura, is one of the major historic place in Sri Lanka, appreciated for its well preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization. Daigoji is a world heritage temple. The temple was declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was founded in 874 AD. It is located in Kyoto. The 5-storey pagado is the highlight of the temple. The pagoda dates back to 951 AD. The beautiful garden that is placed outside the temple is also quite popular among the visitors. History: Shobo founded the temple Daigoji in 874 AD. The great temple is a two-storey building which is supposed as the largest buildings among the Nabatean. It is located in Petra in Jordan. The temple was been constructed in the late first century BC. The site was discovered by the archeologists of Brown University in the year 1992. The archaeologists are still excavating the site. The construction of the Bayon temple belongs to the 12th century. The temple is located at the heart of an old Angkor Thom city. The kingdom of Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka is second most ancient kingdom here. It was first announced the capital by King Vijayabahu , who defeated the  Chola invaders in 1070 CE and reunited the country . The city has been listed under the World Heritage Site by UNESCO (1982). The Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka is extremely beautiful and used as a backdrop to film scenes for the Duran Duran music video Save a Prayer in 1982. There are now government institutions built about 6 km away from the town. The city is one of the cleanest and greenest places of the country.
