Taipei 101 enjoyed the top position as the highest skyscraper in the world for more than 5 years from 2004, till it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in 2010. However, it was not only the first skyscraper of the century, but also the first in the entire millennium. The skyscraper was the first structure to be higher than half kilo meter.
The skyscraper, as the name suggests, is a 101 floor building in Taipei in Taiwan. Its exact location is the Xinyi district. The landmark skyscraper was designed by C Y Lee & Partners, and has been an iconic structure that has acted as a symbol of the modern day Taiwan.
